We are seeking an enthusiastic and amiable individual to join our not-for-profit team as a Volunteer Coordinator. This Part Time (0.6 FTE, 3 days) position is based at Point Lonsdale on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.

About Us

Bellarine Community Health (BCH) is the major provider of primary health care services to the Bellarine Peninsula. BCH is a not-for-profit health care provider with close links to our community operating from five sites – in Drysdale (two sites), Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale and Portarlington and in community settings across the Bellarine.

BCH delivers a broad scope of health services and wellbeing programs for all people in our diverse communities.

About the Team

Bellarine Community Health’s Volunteers play an integral role in the continued support provided across the Bellarine. They work across all areas of the organisation from strategic governance through to daily interaction with people who use our services.  We currently have more than 100 Volunteers and without them, we would not be able to deliver our continued range of services and activities.

About the role

The Volunteer Coordinator manages all aspects of BCH’s volunteer program and provides ongoing support to volunteers, in order to strengthen BCH’s programs and services and to ensure volunteers feel satisfied that they are making an important contribution.

The Volunteer Coordinator oversees the recruitment, selection and engagement of all volunteers as well as supporting BCH paid employees in regard to volunteer engagement and retention.

We would like to hear from you, if you…

  • Hold graduate level education in a relevant field (e.g. Community Development/ Engagement, Human Resources Management or similar).
  • Have relevant employment experience, ideally managing or working in volunteer programs.
  • Have experience in facilitating training, information sessions and events.
  • Possess a demonstrated understanding of the management of volunteer resources, current trends, resources and evaluation related to volunteerism.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills, organisational, administration and time management skills.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to work in a team and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Are proficient in basic computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets and internet usage.

Conditions of Employment

  • A current National Police Check (within 6 months from date of application)
