Bellarine Community Health is currently seeking a graduate or early career Mental Health OT to join our team in a full time, 12 months fixed term role.

About the role

BCH’s Youth team provides a diverse range of primary health care services to our increasing population. Currently we deliver services across our sites including headspace Ocean Grove, BCH youth services, Doctors in Secondary School clinic, within schools and community settings.

The Graduate OT Mental Health Worker will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including general practitioners (GPs), allied health and nursing staff to facilitate the provision of coordinated clinical care and therapy

We would like to hear from you, if you have…

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy as a graduate or early career graduate.
  • Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Member of Occupational Therapy Australia.
  • Ability to work on routine OT tasks within the scope of practice, consulting suitably experienced health professionals when required, and use a range of assessment tools.
  • Understanding of adolescent development stages and how they impact mental health.
  • Experience in establishment and facilitation of group interventions.
  • Developing interpersonal skills with an ability to build positive relationships and work in a team environment, and work with a diverse range of people.
  • Willingness to participate in Occupational Therapy Australia’s training and supervision opportunities for newly graduated OT’s.
  • High levels of professionalism, positivity, confidentiality and discretion and ability to operate with a collaborative approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise a complex and competing workload.
