Bellarine Community Health is currently seeking experienced and suitably qualified Mental Health Professionals to join our expanding Youth Mental Health team. We have available positions to suit Clinical and General Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers, or Mental Health Occupational Therapists who are Mental Health accredited and eligibility for a Medicare provider number. Grade 2 clinicians encouraged to apply.
We have multiple roles available of varying FTE (Full Time and Part Time) – please let us know your preference.

About the Team
BCH’s Youth team provides a diverse range of primary health care services to our increasing population. Currently we deliver services across our sites including headspace Ocean Grove, BCH youth services, Doctors in Secondary School clinic, within schools and community settings.

About the role
The Mental Health Professional is focused on the provision of mental health counselling and support for a case load of young people. This includes the provision of evidence based counselling and psychosocial support and may include the provision of short-medium term interventions including group programs and centre based or outreach support.
The Mental Health Professional will work closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team to engage, assess, and provide support to young people and their family and friends.
We would like to hear from you, if you have…
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work with an additional post-grad qualification in Mental Health.
- Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Eligibility for Medicare provider number to enable service provision through mental health care plans.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in working with young people including demonstrated skills in the provision of psychological counselling.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and evidence based therapeutic counselling interventions, including group intervention.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, including suicide and violence risks, and development of action plans.
- High levels of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise a complex and competing workload.
- A professional and positive outlook within dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
