  • We have a fixed term Health Promotion Planner opportunity available on the beautiful Bellarine!

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and organised person to join our Healthy Communities team in a full-time capacity (part-time job share may be considered). The Health Promotion Planner is to contribute to creating healthy, active, connected, self-reliant communities across the Bellarine Peninsula. This role is based at our Point Lonsdale site working onsite, remotely, and in settings.

Bellarine Community Health (BCH) is the major provider of primary health care services to the Bellarine Peninsula. BCH is a not-for-profit health care provider with close links to our community operating from six sites – in Drysdale (two sites), Ocean Grove(two sites), Point Lonsdale and Portarlington and in community settings across the Bellarine.

About the Team

Our Health Promotion team have a passion for addressing health inequities and are responsible for undertaking primary prevention planning, implementation and evaluation as outlined within the organisation’s Community Health – Health Promotion (CH-HP) Plan.

About the role

The Health Promotion Planner will contribute to the facilitation of high-quality primary prevention activities that are responsive to community need and empowers community action. This includes actions within Bellarine Community Health’s Integrated Health Promotion Plan 2025-2029.

This role is specifically focused on leading and supporting primary prevention activities related to identified health needs and issues within equity-based settings on the Bellarine Peninsula. This includes but is not limited to, co-designing health and wellbeing initiatives within local schools and community settings to improve health and wellbeing outcomes of our population.

We would like to hear from you, if you…

  • Hold tertiary qualifications, or substantial experience, in Health Promotion, Health Science, Community Development, Education or Social Policy (or another relevant field).
  • Have demonstrated expertise in designing, planning implements and evaluating complex and multi-layered health promotion programs and/or community development projects.
  • Have demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Have demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, reporting and acquittals.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, time management and organisational skills with an ability to work proactively and independently.
