Become a Member

Members should have an interest in supporting the aims and services of Bellarine Community Health and be willing to understand the complexities of providing health services to meet a broad suite of community needs.

For $10.00 per annum you can:

• Put forward suggestions directly to the Board of Directors
• Meet with the Board at a dedicated member’s meeting annually
• Enjoy discounted rates (or make no client contribution) to a range of government subsidised services * Note conditions apply see below
• Vote at any General Meeting (BCH Constitution sect 4.5.3)

* Conditions

1. Eligibility

• The BCH Member Discount is available only to current financial members of Bellarine Community Health (BCH).
• Membership must be current at the time the service is delivered.
• The discount is not transferable and applies only to the member receiving the service.

2. Discount Entitlement

• Eligible BCH members assessed as paying a Low Fee or Medium Fee co-contribution will receive a 50% discount on the published co-contribution fee.
• The discount applies only to the client’s co-contribution amount and not to the full cost of the service.
• Where a fee is waived under another BCH policy, no additional member discount applies.

3. Services Covered

• The discount applies only to BCH-delivered services where a low or medium co-contribution fee has been established.
• The discount does not apply to:
  • High income/private fee services;
  • Services provided by external or associate providers;
  • Dental fees, meals, transport, consumables, equipment, or third-party charges unless specifically approved by BCH;
  • Government-mandated fees or charges where discounts are not permitted.

4. Annual Benefit Cap

• To ensure equitable access and financial sustainability, BCH reserves the right to impose an annual cap on the total value of member discounts that may be received by an individual member.
• Once the annual cap is reached, the member will be required to pay the standard published fee applicable to their category.

5. Administration

• Members must advise BCH of their membership status when accessing services.
• BCH may verify membership status before applying any discount.
• BCH reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the Member Discount Program at any time.
