Join Our Aged Care Services Consumer Advisory Body

Bellarine Community Health (BCH) is inviting consumers of our aged care services and their representatives to join our Consumer Advisory Bodies (CAB).

The CABs will look at the quality of care and services you and others receive. You will have an opportunity to contribute to BCH strategies to improve the delivery of aged care services.

If you become a member of one of our advisory bodies you may also have the opportunity to be part of the Quality Care Advisory Body which provides feedback to the BCH Board.We are looking for a cross section of consumers from diverse backgrounds across the Bellarine.

BCH strives for excellence in community palliative care through the most innovative use of available resources and providing planning of care using evidence-based strategies.

Who Can Join?

Anyone who receives a Home Care Package (or their representative/family member) who has a case manager and services organised through BCH.

Anyone who recieves Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funding for services such as podiatry, phsyiotherapy, other allied health services, or anyone who attends a BCH Social Support program.

What Does It Involve?

  • One year membership with the chance to stay longer

  • Four meetings per year no longer than 90 minutes duration

  • Meetings may be online or in person

  • The chance to participate in focus groups, surveys, discussions

  • An opportunity to have an impact on the quality of care and services you and others receive
  • An opportunity to also participate in the Quality Care Advisory Body

What is a Consumer Advisory Body?

A Consumer Advisory Body is a representative group of BCH consumers who come together to discuss key issues about the aged care services offered by BCH as well as about BCH as an organisation. From these discussions, feedback is given to the Board of BCH to support decision making.

Community Advisory bodies are important because they can help improve the quality and safety of the care or service you receive.

About Us

Our health service receives most of its funding from the state and federal government, supplemented by client fees and grants and donations. We are supported by the Australian Government Department of Health and the Victorian Government.
