We are delighted to offer this Healthy Communities Manager opportunity for an experienced professional to lead our wonderful Health Communities team. This is a Part Time, 0.7 FTE (56 hours a fortnight) role.

About the team

Bellarine Community Health have a dedicated team of Health Promotion Planners with a passion for addressing health inequities and responsible for undertaking primary prevention planning, implementation and evaluation as outlined within the organisation’s Community Health – Health Promotion (CH-HP) Plan.

About the role

The Healthy Communities Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of effective primary prevention practice, and will report directly to the Executive Director – Child, Youth and Families.

Providing overall direction and leadership for the Healthy Communities team, this role oversees the development of Bellarine Community Health’s – Health Promotion Plan to support the health and wellbeing of the local community through the delivery of collaborative, place-based, best practice health promotion programs and activities.

The Manager ensures programs and activities are delivered in line with the Community Health – Health Promotion (CH-HP) program guidelines and BCH’s CH-HP Plan and is responsible for the day-to-day operational management, line management and leadership of the Healthy Communities Team.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Community Development, Public Health, Social Health or similar field.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of health promotion principles, best practice approaches and their implementation in a community health setting.
  • Extensive experience and skills in health promotion design, implementation and evaluation of community-based project work.
  • Experience in a leadership role, managing and leading teams to meet agreed objectives, and supporting the team to develop and implement effective and sustainable programs that promote preferred community behaviours and health outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, remain calm, and motivate people.
  • Experience establishing and sustaining effective and positive interpersonal and stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
