We are proud to be piloting Little Growers Story Time in the Garden on the Bellarine, in collaboration with Geelong Regional Libraries, from late 2022 to mid 2023.
Little Growers is a nature-based learning experience for preschool aged children, who explore growing in the garden through story, song and by getting their hands dirty!
We are currently delivering Little Growers to early years settings on the Bellarine, such as Portarlington Preschool.
Portarlington Preschool have been getting hands on in the veggie garden, setting up their garden beds ready for winter, as part of the Little Growers program. Little Growers sessions at the Preschool included a ‘building good soil’ workshop and two Story Times in the Garden with local librarian Nikki and Laura from the Healthy Communities
An innovative new nature-based program introducing preschool children to story times in a garden setting hopes to ‘plant a seed within families’ that fosters an ongoing connection to community gardens and their local public library.
