Bellarine Wellbeing Connect Launch

A group of community minded organisations and service providers have joined together in a bid to create connections that support the health and wellbeing of people on the Bellarine.

Bellarine Wellbeing Connect, an alliance of diverse, community focussed organisations will be officially launched this month at an event at Parks Hall in Portarlington.

The event will launch the partnership and provide a showcase of community-based services available to support people of all ages living on the Bellarine.

“This collaboration has come about following a forum last year organised by Bellarine Community Health in a bid to identify and understand any unmet health and wellbeing needs of the community,” said Acting BCH CEO Kathy Russell. “Among the insights gained from those attending the forum was a willingness to be better connected and identify possible partnerships that could help reach those individuals and communities that experience the most disadvantage.”

The formation of Bellarine Wellbeing Connect will allow partnerships and networking to bring about meaningful connections to help communities navigate the sometimes-complex pathways to services.

The launch on Wednesday 29 May will include a series of panel discussions focussing on services to support young people, liveability on the Bellarine and healthy ageing. There will also be a live broadcast from 94.7 The Pulse from 3pm.

“We hope Bellarine Wellbeing Connect will provide long term partnerships that can benefit local communities on the Bellarine now and into the future.”

The launch event and community showcase will be held on Wednesday 29 May from 1pm to 4pm in Parks Hall at 87 Newcombe Street Portarlington.
